Today the moving company came to our house to estimate the cost for packing us up and shipping all of our stuff to the USA. So I guess it is official that we are definitely moving back to the US.
For those of you who did not know this, I will back up a little bit. As you know, we are having a baby in February, so when we returned from our trip home this summer Kevin met with his boss to discuss his estimated demob date. His boss told him he planned on Kevin staying here until the end of February. Since that would be a really difficult time for us to be packing up, Kevin told him that we were pregnant and spoke with him about possibly leaving the project a couple months early so that we could have the baby in the US. Kevin also mentioned that we would like to be moved to a project in the US after this one. His boss had no problem with that so he set the wheels in motion for us to get ready to leave. I will be home 7 weeks from today (November 23) and Kevin will be home sometime before Christmas. We are still not sure where we will be headed so please keep Kevin's job in your prayers that one, CBI will have a job for him in the US and two, that it will be somewhere in the Southeast. We would love to be close to home so that Brooks will grow up with all our family and friends close by. While we have really enjoyed our time overseas, we both feel like it is time to settle back in America.
Until today it really has not felt real that we are moving soon. Doha has been our home the longest of anywhere since we got married and we have met some wonderful friends and had some great adventures here. Yesterday I spoke with the family who will be moving into our villa once we leave and I started getting very sentimental about leaving. Even though it is time to move on, we have truly made some great memories in this place and I know there will be so many things we will miss once we leave.

We can't wait to have you back here...and if you end up somewhere in west America we'll have to get together OFTEN! Change is always bittersweet if you're leaving a situation where you've made happy memories. :) Glad you enjoyed your time there but more glad to have you coming home!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWon't be long now! Just think of all the great places you've been and things you normally wouldn't experince. I'm jealous of your trip to Paris before your big move! Enjoy this time with Kevin before Brooks is here. Kids are lifechanging for sure...but totally worth it!!
